If Teaneck native Alan Silvestri were to score the soundtrack of his life, it might have all the elements of a Cinderella story, an action-adventure flick and a bromance movie.

His rise to stardom as an Academy Award-nominated composer scoring major motion pictures has had its share of wild twists and turns, from his humble beginnings in junior high playing drums in a Teaneck band called the Wild Cats, to scraping by in Los Angeles giving guitar lessons and writing the occasional orchestration, to scoring the network TV series "Chips" for four years as its senior composer, to just happening to be in the right place at the right time when Hollywood came calling.
