Founded in 2000 by the Silvestri family. Silvestri Vineyards is located approximately 15 miles from the Pacific Ocean in Carmel Valley. The first harvest was in the fall of 2003. Silvestri Vineyards produces approximately 3000 cases per year of Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Syrah, Barbera, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc varietals and continues to expand it's offerings. Driven by the needs of people with diabetes, the mission of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation International is to find a cure for diabetes and its complications through the support of research. Due to their oldest son being a Type 1 diabetic the Silvestris have been very active in their support of the JDRF. The Silvestris chaired JDRF's Children's Congress in June of 1999. Alan's wife, Sandra, was a member of the JDRF's International Board and was one of the founding members of the JDRF's Monterey Bay Chapter.
