"LOS ANGELES—Walt Disney Co. DIS -0.01% 's "Avengers: Endgame" has become the new all-time box-office champion.
The April superhero release over the weekend passed 2009's "Avatar" as the top-grossing movie at the world-wide box office when figures aren't adjusted for inflation.
"Avengers: Endgame" generated $2,790,200,000 in ticket sales globally, beating "Avatar" by about $500,000 in tickets sold. The "Endgame" record-setting gross was led by $854.2 million collected in the U.S. and Canada and $629.1 million in China."
